Apologies
First for the lack of posting and second if anyone has had an email bounced. The reason is the same for both: the university in its wisdom, I use the term loosely, managed to delete my internet account and thus I have been unable to use the internet, email or even access my computer. So I have done no work at all for the last three days. Hopefully things will be back to normal tomorrow but I was told that yesterday and things are still not working. This is being post under a temporary account which is the best I've got right now. My email account is still not working. But with luck I will be back tomorrow.

University IT departments: do not get me started.
Come to think of it, university finance departments: do not get me started.
I only interact with two university departments and both are the most incompetent organisations I have ever come across. It is just extraordinary how indifferent individuals working in those organisations are to doing a good job. They simply do not care what you want from them. And there's nothing you can do. You can't go elsewhere, because given you're at the university, they're it.If they were in competition with anything or anyone they'd be out of business before lunchtime.
