Perry adds that

According to the CIA World Factbook, 2007 GDP per capita (PPP) was $25,000 in S. Korea vs. $1,700 in N. Korea.

But on the bright side North Korea will have a much smaller carbon footprint than the South. And not much in the way of greenhouse gas emissions.
