I hav...Good points on public-private partnerships.<br /><br />I have looked into these deals and agree that they are of dubious value. While the rhetoric supporting PPPs is focused on savings, the real reason they are appealing to government is because they are an off-book form of financing. The government gets to pay for the infrastructure over time without increasing its official debt.<br /><br />As far as I can tell, the main reason private sector delivery of projects is cheaper is because they are better at controlling wage costs.
